Floating or Flying more like Gliding

Lifted through the clouds

I watch myself as I slept

My feet planted now

Ground shifts

A door 3 steps

A closed-in porch

A door no screen

Floating or Flying more like,

Gliding I feel wind hit my face

Ice melts on the tip of my nose

A blue tea cup and a hand

I shrink

I disappear

I reappear unseen

Floating   Flying   Gliding

Fish, at the window

Her fins iridescent her top coral

She feeds him with Coca Cola

Three gulps

I look down

Six tentacles

Lavender Purple

I'm Flying I'm Floating I'm Gliding

Katrice Kelly is an interdisciplinary artist, MFA Painting and Drawing student attending the University of Iowa. She has been making art her entire life. Katrice’s works have been influenced by cultural traditions, dream studies, and rest ministries. Fibers, such as yarn and synthetic hair are the main materials used to create tactile and comforting paintings. Her goal is to create work that feels familiar to everyone.
